Steve Price is a Houston-based singer songwriter whose songs build on a mix of
influences like Cash, Kristofferson, Dylan, Gram Parsons and many other folk, rock, country and
blues masters to touch your heart, entertain, and tell you something you didn’t know or hadn’t
thought about. They reflect a long experience of viewing life and love from up, down, sideways,
and through a fish-eye lens. His second CD, Less Than Perfect Stranger, is due out in December
2010. His first, critically acclaimed album, Spirit in the Wind, was released in 2009. Both can be
sampled and purchased through his web site www.steve-price-music.com.
Steve Price’ s songs grow out of the sunlight and shadows of a searching mind and
recesses of a pilgrim soul. Some of them channel a muse from the heart of the desert; others
reach for a truth from the past. Some are just trifles of moments; a few of them probably will
last. Some have a sensual feeling that can make you believe you were there; others a crazy
vibration that only a jester would dare. He’ s an old soul bard and a troubadour who’ s travelled all
over the world, always returning to Texas, with a song from the road to unfurl. With his songs of
freedom singing like old spirits in the wind, a poet and a picker he will be to the end…
"Steve Price has a solid sense of the singer/songwriter tradition.
In his songs, he continues the legacy of his heroes: Kristofferson, Shaver, and Van Zandt."
