Getting these songs down helped me get through a crazy time. Recording them with Jack Saunders at White Cat Studio was a realization of the healing power of song and a celebration of making music with your friends. I never enjoyed a better, looser time than during these sessions, or had a better collaborator in any creative endeavor than Jack. He often seems to know where I’m coming from musically better than I do. This helped immensely in efforts to give flesh, blood, and sturdy legs to these songs. So, happy listening…I hope something here comes alive in your ears! I’d love to hear from you at steve_price_songs@yahoo.com.
Acknowledgements
Thanks to Jack Saunders for being the musician, producer, engineer, friend, and old soul he is. There’s nobody better. (You want a mandolin distorted through a Marshall stack? No problem! Need a B-bender tele twang to go with that screaming resonator? Here you go!)
Huge thanks to Rick Richards also for graciously lending his prodigious talent. He is a veritable poet of drums.
I greatly appreciate the inimitable Rick Poss for finding time to sit in with Telecaster and cool, cool lap steel – hot licks from a very cool guy…and most excellent friend. Gentlemen, I’m honored by your contributions and appreciate you on a deep personal level.
I would also like to thank Tim, Sara, and Dixie Brown, Judy Young, Barbara Carlin, and Susan Gillette for your intangible contributions. And thanks to Mike Darnell, Wayne Wilkerson, Ken Gaines, T.C. Smythe, Gary Taylor, Wrecks Bell, Gary Burgess, Leslie Kraffka, Pam Fowler, Lupe and Sid Oliveros, Rick Heysquierdo, Bill Aspinwall, Mike Crippen, Mark Zeus, Dan Barfield, Selia Qynn, Glynace Eastham, Tom Tranchilla, Charlie Stewart, Brian Kalinec, Bob Orenstein, Dalis Allen, and so many others for encouragement and shared passion for music. You are all truly singing for the freedom, singing for the truth!
And special thanks to Selia Qynn for a great cover design and Vanessa Lively for her work on my web site, www.steve-price-music.com (check it out!).
